Larry Fehd is CEO and founder of Human Performance Strategies (HPS) an Austin-based
firm serving a diverse portfolio of U.S. and international clientele. Mr. Fehd
founded HPS with a passion and talent for helping leaders transform great vision
into reality. HPS works with leaders who want to perform at their best and inspire
the best from their people.
Mr. Fehd is a seasoned business professional with a unique gift and talent for improving executive, team, and organizational performance and business results. The majority of his diverse career was with Johnson & Johnson's Tylenol® division. He also served for many years as a member of the prestigious Johnson & Johnson Training & Organization Development Consortium, which created best-in-class leadership and organizational development programs. During his tenure, he developed a unique Leadership Development Program which required the development of a customized leadership effectiveness assessment, competency-based coaching, and various individual and team training and development initiatives. This program became a mid-level management developmental model for Johnson & Johnson's highly regarded Standards of Leadership Program.
Mr. Fehd has expertise in executive coaching, leadership development, high performance teams, organizational effectiveness, emotional intelligence, strategic planning and key talent assessment, development and retention. His expertise is complemented by having served in many senior executive roles while with Johnson & Johnson and at the helm during the formation, evolution and ongoing success of HPS.
Mr. Fehd is an avid writer and author; his current book project is entitled Igniting Human Potential™. He previously authored and published Emotional Intelligence: An Executive Handbook. Mr. Fehd holds a Professional Certification in Emotional Intelligence Theory and Implementation. He speaks frequently and conducts customized executive programs and training workshops on various topics including Leadership Development, Coaching for Performance, Emotional Intelligence, Organizational Effectiveness, Culture and Business Performance, Building Strategic Leadership Competency, Leading Successful Change, and Creating and Sustaining High-Performance Teams.
He conceived and successfully launched HPS' HR Executive Strategic Best Practices Forum™ as a mechanism for senior HR executives to learn about and exchange current best practices in human performance strategy and management. The forum assists senior HR executives to become more influential strategic business partners within their organizations. This invitation-only forum comprises executives representing many highly regarded U.S. and international corporations.
In addition to his professional expertise, Mr. Fehd is passionate about customer service and showcases "best practice" methods which foster and sustain superior customer service, unique competitive advantage, and customer satisfaction and retention. He believes that "exceptional customer service should be the standard and not an anomaly in today's business world."
Mr. Fehd is a Business Management graduate of Purdue University. He holds a number of professional certifications including the prestigious Center for Creative Leadership (CCL). He is a qualified facilitator for most CCL assessments including SKILLSCOPE, Prospector, 360 BY DESIGN, and the organizational assessment instrument, KEYS. Mr. Fehd and HPS are licensed partners with the renowned Insights Learning & Development, Dundee, Scotland. He is a member of ASTD and SHRM and is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). He currently resides in Austin.
